Sammot and CloudGrid Energy have entered into a partnership to develop and deploy modular AI data centers across the Nordic region, in support of CloudGrid Energy’s ambition to build a pan-European network of distributed AI computing infrastructure.

The partnership combines CloudGrid Energy’s development, financing and operational expertise with Sammot’s regional presence, energy infrastructure experience and local site origination. Together, the partners intend to establish a joint Nordic platform, CloudGrid Energy Nordics, to source, develop and operate modular AI data centers across the region.

CloudGrid Energy’s modular AI data centers consist of complete, self-contained AI computing units based on Antimatter’s PoliCloud technology, housed in standard 20-foot and 40-foot containers and orchestrated and commercialised through the Hivenet platform. The smallest unit represents approximately 100 kW and units can be deployed individually or combined into larger installations. By placing compute capacity where electricity is already available, close to renewable generation and existing grid connections, the partners aim to shorten development timelines and reduce reliance on major new grid infrastructure.

“Our ambition is to build a pan-European network of distributed AI computing infrastructure. The Nordics are a key region for us, combining abundant renewable energy, established infrastructure and a strong digital economy. These are exactly the conditions that let us deploy modular AI data centers quickly and sustainably.”

Eric Reisse · CEO & Co-Founder, CloudGrid Energy

“Large-scale campuses remain essential, but they take years to build. Modular AI data centers deployed at sites with available power can bring capacity online far faster, and scale as the market evolves. This partnership lets us combine that speed with CloudGrid Energy’s technology and platform.”
